ANGELO Methews’ smashing 80-run snatched easy win from Pakistan at Premadasa Stadium on Monday. Mohammad Sami was remained the most expensive bowler for Pakistan who conceded 75 runs in 9.4 over and 15 on four four balls of the last over. Sohail Tanvir grabbed three wickets whereas Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Hafeez got two and one wicket respectively. Dinesh Chandimal and Kumar Sangakkara played well for their side and contributed 54 and 40 runs respectively. Methews was declared player of the match, whereas Thisara Perera was declared man of the series. Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and made, while playing first, 247 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Imran Farhat and Umer Akmal made half centuries for Pakistan. Both scored 56 and 55 runs respectively. Skipper Misbahul Haq scored 38 runs, while Asad Shafiq and Azhar Ali made 32 and 30 runs respectively. From host Sri Lanka Jeevan Mendis and Nuwan Kulasekara shared two wickets apiece while Lasith Malinga and Thisara Perera grabbed one wicket each.
