Bollywood film posters are getting increasingly risque as more adult-themed films and erotic thrillers are making their way to the theatres. The latest poster that is raising eyebrows comes from Raaz 3, which has the sultry Bipasha Basu flaunting her newly improved curves. The poster released on Monday has Bipasha in black shorts and a bikini top. The idea, according to makers Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt, is to define Raaz 3 – the third film in the super hit Raaz series – as a horror thriller loaded with oomph. While the first Raaz film, a 2002 super hit, was low on depicting sensuality to pro-mote the project, the second film, Raaz: The Mystery Continues, grabbed eyeballs with heroine Kangna Ranaut’s bare back on the posters in 2009. The Raaz 3 poster comes in the wake of the launch of the posters of Kareena Kapoor’s upcoming film, Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine. Last week, Madhur launched the first poster of the film that has Kareena striking a sexy pose from her high-light item number in the film, ‘Halkat Jawaani’. Another poster of the film, launched at the same time, sees Kareena in a glitzy gold short dress, lying in a pose that liberally exposes her legs. The pose is similar to American pop star Mariah Carey’s on the cover of her album cover, The Emancipation Of Mimi. Earlier, suggestive posters were mostly the re-sort of B-grade films and their heroines who would look for instant publicity with such risque highlighting. However, after the success of Vidya Balan’s provocative poses and performance in The Dirty Picture last year, most A list heroines don’t seem to have problems hard-selling their sexuality as part of their film’s promotion these days.
