What Kangana has to say about her recent failure?

Posted on 16 March 2017 by admin

Her latest release “Rangoon” may not have done as well as expected but actress Kangana Ranaut says she does not fear failure and believes in moving on.

The 29-year-old star, whose performance in films like “Queen” and “Tanu Weds Manu Returns”, has cemented her position as a great performer in the industry, says her aim is to constantly improve her craft.

“I don’t fear losing out. I constantly try and move on. If you don’t move on, you lose out. One needs to know the trick to move on to see the constant growth. That is what my endeavour is. I know it is not possible that I will always succeed in whatever I do. But it is all right,” Kangana said.

The National award-winning star says she does not rely on any person to get over a low phase. “I draw the strength from my inner voice. I do not rely on someone telling me all the time that ‘you can do it, you can make it’. People do rely on that outer entity, but fortunately I have a very strong inner voice and that actually gives me the blue print. I let my inner voice take over my decisions.”

Kangana is the current industry favourite, but the actress prefers not to mingle around much with other Bollywood celebrities. She, however, feels people misunderstand her decision to remain in her shell as arrogance.

“People mistake my introvert nature or my genuine disliking for them as arrogance. It’s taken for granted that women should be receptive of whatever and whosoever comes to their way. But there is a possibility that she is genuinely disinterested and wants to be in her shell.

“It’s just that I don’t waste time on equations that are not going anywhere or don’t add to my life in any way. It will be a waste of time,” Kangana says. The star is now looking forward to the release of “Simran,” directed by Hansal Mehta. The comedy film will see her in the role of a Gujarati NRI.

Kangana says she wants to maintain a balance between lighter roles and hard-hitting stories like the Rani Lakshmibai biopic by Ketan Mehta. “It is a larger-than-life character. I have already started preparing for my role. It is going to be a tough film for me,” she says.

Here’s why Katrina pulled out herself from an award show

Posted on 16 March 2017 by admin

It won’t be completely wrong if we say Anurag Basu’s upcoming comedy action adventure Jagga Jasoos is jinxed.

Firstly, the film faced months of delay in its release because of one reason or the another. Secondly, the lead pair, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, separated their ways from a real-life romance probably causing further delay. Now, Kaif has injured herself on the sets of the film.

The Indian Expressreports that while Kaif was shooting for the film, a heavy object crashed on her neck and injured her. After medical examination, the doctors have advised her complete bed rest to avoid any strenuous physical activity. Since she is confined to bed now, she will not be able to fulfill her commitment of a stage dance performance at the upcoming Zee Cine Awards 2017 that is scheduled to take place on 11 March.

It was earlier reported that Kaif and Kapoor are hesitant to promote Jagga Jasoos together. With the unfortunate injury, Kaif has little choice but to not promote the film at all. That is, in case the release date gets pushed from 7 April.

Basu had tweeted that they were looking for a suitable later date in order to avoid the exam season since the film is a wholesome family entertainer.

Also, Kaif will soon start shooting for Ali Abbas Zafar’s Tiger Zinda Hai. So it is a wise move on her part to avoid the performance at Zee Cine Awards 2017. However, Bollywood Life reports that other stars like Govinda, Raveena Tondon, Alia Bhatt, Sunny Leone and Salman Khan are all set to set the stage on fire with their dance performances at the award function.

Jagga Jasoos is co-produced by Kapoor, Basu and Siddharth Roy Kapur. It also stars Adah Sharma, Sayani Gupta, Karan Wahi, Saurabh Shukla and Saswata Chatterjee.

Evelyn Sharma goes through dust and grind to build homes on Women’s Day

Posted on 16 March 2017 by admin

While most celebs headed to felicitation events, seminars or posted their views on Twitter on International Woman’s Day, there was one who went through dust and grind. Actress and fashion philanthropist Evelyn Sharma joined some prominent women leaders from different fields in an initiative to build homes for underprivileged women.

The Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actress who was last seen speaking at Donald Trump’s National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, drove down to the little city of Karjat adjoining the Sahyadri Western Ghats near the banks of the River Ulhas in Maharashtra, to participate in a house building activity arranged under the campaign ‘WOMEN BUILD India’ by the Habitat for Humanity organization. Evelyn is the youth ambassador for their ‘Young Leaders BUILD’ movement.

In Karjat, Evelyn volunteered to build a home for Changuna Sarai who lives in Sarai Wadi with her family. Changuna and her husband Suresh Sarai are agricultural labourers. With their meager daily wages, they try to make ends meet. To add to their difficulties is a lack of proper sanitation facilities for her three daughters who are growing up.

Overjoyed with the development, Changuna said, “My husband, my daughters and myself; we live with our extended family. We are ten members in all and have been living in an extremely small house. Our condition has affected the education of my daughters. The new house is a dream come true for our family. Now we won’t have to worry about a roof over our daughters heads.”

‘WOMEN BUILD India’ is a part of Habitat for Humanity’s strategy that aims to achieve holistic community development with shelter and sanitation at its core. Its objective is to make ‘Housing for All’ and ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ a reality by 2020.

“It is encouraging to see how the Government of India is addressing these needs through various campaigns. As women leaders from different fields, we must play a part. This was one of the best days of my life,” quipped Evelyn who is also the founder and managing director of Seams For Dreams Charity Foundation. Attagirl!
